Vatsala Ratnasabapathy, head of our Construction, Engineering and Arbitration practice, will be speaking at the 3rd ICC Malaysia Arbitration Day on 5 June 2025 (Thursday). The conference is hosted by the Malaysian branch of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Drawing from her rich experience in arbitration, she will be sharing her views and expertise with the audience in a session titled “Appointing a Tribunal - Diversity and other considerations?”. The session will discuss key contemporary issues such as the importance of diversity in arbitration tribunals, including the role of cultural and geographical differences in such decisions.

The seminar will feature three other sessions, with panels discussing various topical issues, including the recent amendments to the Arbitration Act which will finally allow third-party funding in arbitration, the impact of artificial intelligence on arbitration, as well as how conflict of interests can be best managed in a web of increasingly complex relationships.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from leading figures in the field, hailing from Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, such as Mr Francis Xavier SC, Dr Jasmine Begum, Ms Kamilah Kassim, Ms May Tai, Mr Yang Ing Loong, Dato' Murelidaran Navaratnam, and Mr Leonard Yeoh.

The event will run from 8.30 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
